Hiring Household Staff in Miami

A market where the first question is often which languages a candidate speaks.

The defining feature of staffing a Miami home is that the household is usually international, and the first requirement is frequently language. Fluency in Spanish, and often Portuguese, is the starting point for many families here rather than a bonus, alongside the experience and polish any serious placement requires. The pull is clearest in finance: in December 2025, Bloomberg reported that Vanguard plans to triple the size of its Miami team to serve Latin American clients moving wealth offshore, a measure of how much of the city's growth is tied to families arriving from across the hemisphere. For a household, that translates into a simple reality: the right nanny, household manager, or newborn professional often needs to move comfortably between languages and cultures.

The geography reinforces it. Many of the homes are waterfront estates and high-rise residences on the islands, Star Island, Fisher Island, Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, where privacy and security awareness are part of the role, and where staff are often comfortable in households that move between countries and entertain internationally.

Unlike the seasonal markets to the north, Miami's warm climate means many households staff year-round, though plenty of families split their time abroad and want professionals who can travel or hold a position across more than one residence.

Demand concentrates on bilingual and multilingual nannies and newborn care specialists, estate and household managers for large waterfront properties, formal and informal service, and professionals at ease in international homes. This is a market where the ideal candidate may speak three languages and have worked across borders, exactly the person an international search is built to find.

We maintain a presence serving Miami-Dade and the wider region, and because we recruit internationally and place anywhere, we are well suited to a market where the right person rarely fits a single passport. It is what families come to Nannies + more…® for.
