How Experienced Are Your Candidates, and Do They Drive?

The qualifications, experience, and practical skills behind the professionals we represent, and how we match them to what your family needs.

When considering an agency, families want to know who, exactly, they will be choosing from: how experienced the professionals are, what qualifications they hold, and whether they bring the practical skills a particular household requires, driving chief among them. Here is an honest picture of the caliber of the people we represent and how their qualifications are matched to your needs.

On experience, the professionals we represent are, as a rule, genuinely experienced. We set a firm floor: a minimum of five years of professional experience, with no entry-level placements, ever. We are highly selective, accepting fewer than 1 in 10 applicants, and we look for substantial, verifiable experience in the relevant field, strong references, and a track record of stability and longevity. We do not place inexperienced or entry-level help; the people we present are career professionals with real, confirmed histories of caring for families and households well. The depth of experience varies by individual and by role, and we match accordingly, but the floor is high.

On qualifications and education, our candidates vary, and that variety is a feature, not a gap. Different roles call for different backgrounds: a governess may hold a relevant college degree and speak several languages; a newborn specialist brings specialized training; an estate manager brings management experience; a career nanny brings years of hands-on expertise. Rather than apply a single template, we learn what your family needs, in education, qualifications, languages, and specialties, and coordinate candidates to match. We will try to align a candidate's particular education and qualifications with your family's specific requirements, because the right fit depends on what you actually need, not on a one-size standard.

On driving, many of our candidates do drive, and for a great many roles it is essential, school runs, activities, errands, transporting children safely. Where driving is a requirement, we match you with professionals who drive, and our background screening includes a motor vehicle records check, so you can be confident in their driving history as well as their willingness. If driving is central to your role, simply tell us, and it becomes part of the brief we recruit and match to.

The same is true of other practical skills: languages, comfort with travel, willingness to work overnights or relocate, experience with multiples or special needs, formal service ability. These are all things we establish up front and match to your requirements, because a professional who fits your role on paper but lacks a practical skill the role demands is not a fit at all.

The principle throughout is recruit-to-brief. We do not ask you to take whoever is available and hope they fit; we learn precisely what your household requires, in experience, qualifications, languages, driving, and temperament, and we present professionals who genuinely meet it. That is what allows the experience and skills of the person you hire to actually match the life you are hiring them into. At Nannies + more…®, it is the standard behind every search we conduct.
